Memoir of My Birthday

Birthdays are always fun. A way to celebrate life, birthday bring us lots of happiness in terms of new clothes, beautiful presents and the fun and frolic. Birthdays are done right when everything goes according to the plan. From décor to food, to deciding on what to wear to deciding a theme for the party, birthdays have its own vibrant charm per se!

When we grow up, often we come across to oldies complaining how they don’t like birthdays or that birthdays are overrated, it is not true! Birthdays bring the fond memories of our childhood to the young age.

I remember when my mommy dearest bought me a girl designer dress for my 5th birthday. Too naïve and young to understand and distinguish the brand at that time, I still remember quite vividly how it looked on me. Adhering to the hues of my favourite colour- Pink; the dress fell perfectly on me, befitting me flawlessly.

The billowing skirt with golden embellishments radiated this effervescence that garnered a lot of compliments for me. The only way I thanked them all was with a smile. I recall my mother was being asked about where I got my dress from. She simply laughed it off. My mother’s taste in dresses was pretty subtle and elegant. She usually picked up the children dresses online. Shopping to her was abysmal as opposed to other women. She despised going out looking for a right fit, right silhouette, the right designer and the right cloth material when the person in question was me. She would always bank upon Kidology’s umpteen collection of designer clothing. Options were abundant and enchanting.

Birthdays have been special to me, especially when I recollect this memory! For my mother dearest made me look like a show stopper; enough to gather the right gaze.
